DameWare Mini Remote Control System
(Minimum) Requirements
MRC Client Agent Service (Installed on the remote
machine)
The MRC client agent service can be installed and run on
machines running all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
beginning with and including Windows XP SP2, Server
2003/2003 R2, Vista, Server 2008/2008 R2, Windows Server
2012/2012 R2, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. All
service pack levels are supported with these operating
systems except where noted. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions
of these operating systems are supported. For 64-bit remote
machines, the new 64-bit MRC Client Agent Service can be
used.
MRC Installed on the remote
machine
The MRC program is officially supported on all Microsoft
Windows Operating Systems beginning with Windows XP SP2. The
local machine, where the MRC application is installed, must
be running one of the following Microsoft Windows Operating
Systems: Windows XP SP2, Server 2003/2003 R2, Vista, Server
2008/2008 R2, Windows Server 2012/2012 R2, Windows 7,
Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. All service pack levels for these
Operating Systems are supported unless noted. Both 32-bit
and 64-bit versions of these Operating Systems are
supported.
***Older Operating Systems may be able to run the MRC
application; however, DameWare cannot provide support for
those installations.
MRC Mirror Driver (supported on Windows XP SP2 or
higher)
The video card of the remote machine must support the
following raster capabilities:
- Transferring bitmaps (RC_BITBLT)
- Supporting the Windows APIs, SetDIBits and GetDIBits
functions (RC_DI_BITMAP)
- Support only one color plane.
Smart Card Login &
Authentication (v5.5 and above only)
According to Microsoft, Smart Card Login & Authentication
is only supported on Windows 2000 and above. Including:
- Windows XP SP2 Professional
- Windows 2003 Server
- Windows Vista
- Windows 2008 Server
- Windows 2008 R2 Server
- Windows 2012 Server
- Windows 2012 R2 Server
- Windows 7
- Windows 8
- Windows 8.1
Other than Microsoft’s implemented Smart Card Services
(scardsvr), no additional middleware is directly required by
our software for Smart Card Authentication & Login.
A Smart Card reader is not required on the remote
machine.
Your Operating System and network implementation must be
configured properly for Smart Card authentication.
