Skanix AS is a company founded on a Norwegian Swedish development work. The cooperative work developed the security software in a governmental project with the education authorities of Oslo, the Capital of Norway. Skanix AS is now continuing this cooperative work in both international sales and product development.

The company has premises at Hønefoss in Norway where the administration and international sales are situated. The technical development and software maintenance are located at Knivsta in Sweden. This fully understates that Skanix AS is a truly Nordic venture company with joint effort and results.

Skanix® Network Suite

Do you need a tool to administrate or control networked PCs in a school- or classroom environment, Skanix® Network Suite is the solution!

Skanix® Classroom Manager provides functionality for the teacher to have control over the computer usage in a classroom environment. The teacher can get thumbnails, block computers, control internet access, control programs and more.

Skanix® Network Manager is used to organize the computers in your school environment. Offers central control over computers running Skanix Illusion, apply technical tasks to several computers at the same time, scheduled operations and more.

Skanix® Network Suite comprises of 3 products. A Network Client installed in each workstation, a Crossroad Server keeping track of all clients, their identifications and IP-addresses and a Network Manager that either control the whole Network or a specific subnet (Classroom Manager).

Easy to use:

  • Install Crossroad server on a server (or XP station) in the network. It must have a fixed IP.
  • Install manually or by deployment the Network Client on all workstations. When restarted and connected to the network each workstation will display in the Crossroad Server within same subnet. If not in the same subnet the IP-address of the server or its Name must be implemented in the client information on deployment.
  • When connecting the Network Manager to Crossroad server all workstations will be displayed there and you may then do your wanted manipulations.
What is Skanix Network Manager? In Network Manager all clients connected to the crossroad server will be displayed. You may make your own structure of them in groups and subgroups in an unlimited leveled tree structure. Just make the tree and drag the workstations into the corresponding group. In Network Manager you may then work on whole Network, Groups or Individual workstations or combinations just by marking the receivers with a mouse click. The structure can be saved and used from any workstation connected to the network. How it works?

When a workstation connects to Network Manager the crossroad server gives the manager all connecting data. Then the manager can communicate directly with the client in each workstation. Through this dialog the manager can do operations on the workstations marked and receive information from the workstation.

What operations can be made on a workstation?

  • Network manager can display the configuration and online situation of any workstation.
  • You may control the on/off and setup of Illusion on marked workstations

  • You can define and implement time activated operations on workstations
  • You can maintain automatically antivirus and other security applications.
  • You can display the thumbnail mosaic of all screen of marked workstations
  • You can Zoom and save any thumbnail if wanted
  • You can be informed of which application that have focus on the workstation.
  • You can define and implement IP-/URL policies restricting internet and addressed resources
  • You can restrict and control regardless of what connection the workstation has to Internet
  • You can define and implement control of allowed applications
  • You can broadcast your screen and messages to marked workstations
  • You can take control and work cooperative on any marked workstation
  • You can define personal control acceptations for any user

  Easy to use:

  • Install Crossroad server on a server (or XP station) in the network. It must have a fixed IP.
  • Install manually or by deployment the Network Client on all workstations. When restarted and connected to the network each workstation will display in the Crossroad Server within same subnet. Skanix Maintenance

When you buy a Skanix product, you initially get one year of maintenance included. This maintenance can be extended, by paying a renewal fee each year. The maintenance includes the rights to get updates for the product initially licenses, and also to receive support for this. By having this maintenance active, the customer are ensured to be able to get the latest version at all time. We do not charge any upgrade fees. So when we went from XP->Vista->Win7, customer with maintenance got access to those new versions without paying anything extra than maintenance. Please have a look at the text below, describing this.

Price per license is found by taking the total number of license the customer will have of this exact product after the sale (adding existing and new licenses). A new license includes one year of free maintenance from date of purchase, that is access to software updates and support. For the customer to have future software updates available, a maintenance fee must be paid each year, and continuously paid from the initial license.

If a customer stops the maintenance at some point, and later asks for updates to software/restart the maintenance agreement, the customer must pay for the whole gap in maintenance since it was canceled, until it covers the date of request. The maximum price will be the cost for a new license, if that is lower price than adding up years without maintenance.

Maintenance is sold per full year, starting from the initial license order date + 1 year.

Skanix will only provide software updates, and handle support cases, for customers having a valid maintenance contract.
