With the release of SketchUp 2018 we've removed support for Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite). There is no longer a SketchUp Make for download, our free version of SketchUp is called
SketchUp Free and available in all modern web browsers.
To use SketchUp Pro and all the extras that come with it (including LayOut and Style Builder), you need a SketchUp Pro software license.
SketchUp offers licenses for individuals, businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofits. Buying or Upgrading a License explains the types of licenses available (including the free 30-day software trial) and how to buy or upgrade a license.
Beginning with SketchUp 2015, SketchUp Pro moved to cloud-based licensing, which gives users more flexibility. For example, you can do the following:
Authorize a license on up to two computers. The license works on either the Windows or Mac operating system. If you have a Windows and a Mac computer, you can use the same license to run SketchUp Pro on each computer.
Check a license in and out. If your business or organization has a network license, you can check out a license for offline use. This feature is helpful if you’re planning to use a SketchUp Pro network license on a plane or anywhere else you may not have an active Internet connection.
Renewing the Upgrade
When you buy a SketchUp Pro license, you’re enrolled in the SketchUp Pro upgrade, maintenance, and support program for one year. When you’re active in this program, you have the following benefits:
Predictable upgrade expenses: Within the year after your initial purchase, you can upgrade to the new SketchUp Pro version. After that first year, simply renew your license and enrollment in the upgrade, maintenance, and support program annually for predictable upgrade and support expenses. For a single-user license, you can renew for $120 per year. For a network license, you can renew for $200 per seat.
The most current SketchUp Pro features: When you stay enrolled in the upgrade, maintenance, and support program, you have access to all the power-packed improvements that come with each new version of SketchUp Pro — as soon as the new version is available.
Phone support: In addition to the Knowledge Center, Help Forum, and email support, the program gives you access to phone support. If you’re encountering an issue installing or authorizing SketchUp Pro (or any other issue with SketchUp Pro), let us know and we’ll be happy to help out. Please refer to your email with the upgrade, maintenance, and support information for contact details.
If your Maintenance and Support Plan is already active then you can simply download the new version and apply your new license, which was emailed to you, to get started. Please refer to our Getting Started article for additional information.

The Maintenance & Support plan gives you three great things for one year:
License upgrades for Major SketchUp Pro releases when they become available
Minor releases which include bug fixes
Access to our technical support resources
If you’re buying a new SketchUp Pro "single-user" license, the program will automatically be included in your purchase. This cost will include the perpetual Pro license, plus one year of any new upgrades, maintenance, and support. This means that you would also receive an upgrade to the next major versions of SketchUp Pro when and if they become available at no extra charge (as long as your upgrade, maintenance, and support program is still active).
If you already have a SketchUp Pro license, you can purchase or renew this plan to get a license for the latest version of SketchUp Pro.
It’s important to note that your SketchUp Pro license will always work for the version of Pro that you paid for. SketchUp Pro licenses will not stop working when your upgrade, maintenance, and support program expires.
