Symantec™ Backup Exec System Recovery
2010
Windows-palvelimien varmistaminen on haastavaa monista eri syistä. Jokainen Windows-käyttöjärjestelmän asennus on erilainen, minkä vuoksi järjestelmän varmistus voidaan palauttaa ainoastaan täsmälleen samanlaiseen palvelimeen. Nykyisin palvelimen elinkaari on pahimmillaan vain muutama kuukausi, minkä jälkeen palvelimesta on olemassa vain uusi versio erilaisella verkkokortilla, massamuistiohjaimella tai näytönohjaimen-versiolla. Symantecin tutkimusten mukaan tähän valmisteluun kuluu aikaa ympäristön mukaan vähintään 4-10 tuntia. Vasta tämän jälkeen voidaan aloittaa varsinainen palvelimen tietojen palauttaminen. Käytännössä palvelinta ei suurimmassa osassa tapauksista saada pystyyn yhdessä työpäivässä, vaan aikaa kuluu yhdestä työpäivästä jopa viikkoon.
Windows-työasemien varmistaminen on aivan yhtä tärkeää kuin palvelinjärjestelmien. Symantecin tutkimusten mukaan yrityksen liiketoiminnalle kriittisestä tiedosta peräti 70% sijaitsee ainoastaan työaseman kiintolevyllä – laite on on yhä useammin kannettava. Laiterikon tai käyttöjärjestelmän päivityksen mennessä pieleen tarvitaan sekä järjestelmän että käyttäjän tiedostojen palautus. Henkilökohtaisen tietokoneen laiterikko aiheuttaa helposti 1-2 päivän suuruisen työajan menetyksen.

Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Windows
Small Business Server Edition is licensed per server. It is available for
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard and Premium Editions, Windows Small
Business Server Standard and Premium R2 Editions, and Windows Small Business
Server 2000. This product requires a license file for activation
Backup Exec System Recovery Granular
Restore Option is licensed on a per server basis, and comes bundled with the
Backup Exec System Recovery Windows Small Business Server Edition.
For centralized management capabilities you can manage an unlimited number of
clients with a single license of Backup Exec System Recovery Manager (based on
any performance and bandwidth constraints you may have). Note, however, that our
recommendation is for customers to purchase one license of Backup Exec System
Recovery Manager for every 500 nodes that you wish to manage. |
