Extensis was founded in 1993 in Portland, Oregon with the goal of removing barriers that get in the way of creativity. Our roots started with core Apple enthusiasts using Adobe and Quark products and focused on the creation of plug-ins.
In the mid-90s, Extensis was the largest plug-in developer in the world adding photo cataloging software, a creative content website, font management, and digital asset management to its product suite. This growth led to Extensis being sold to Japanese content-management company Celartem Inc. in 2002.
In 2005, the plug-in product line was sold allowing Extensis to focus entirely on font management and digital asset management technologies. Extensis continued to innovate and was awarded over 20 font patents throughout its existence. Extensis expanded its global presence into the UK, France, Germany, and Australia.
In 2018, sister company LizardTech, also owned by Celartem Inc., moves its state-of-the-art software solutions for compressing and distributing massive, high-resolution geospatial data into the Extensis suite of products. Extensis and LizardTech customers now have access to additional solutions for maximizing the value of their digital assets.

Adobe Creative Cloud 2020
First things first — this version provides full support for Adobe Creative Cloud 2020 applications. Adobe announced new versions of these apps on Nov. X. For all you Adobe users, don’t worry. As you explore the new features and functionalities of Creative Cloud 2020, Suitcase Fusion offers auto-activation for Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InCopy, and After Effects.
Sketch
This version of Suitcase Fusion (v21) also marks the beginning of our partnership with Sketch — the web design toolkit that empowers webpage and user interface creation. Font management challenges can slow down web designers, too, so Suitcase Fusion now makes it easy for Sketch users to do more with their fonts.
You can use the Suitcase Fusion plugin to utilize auto-activation, track fonts in documents, and collect fonts for output. You can share fonts with your team. Suitcase Fusion can also solve conflicts caused by multiple fonts with the same name and eliminate font errors when you open a document.
Affinity
Last but not least, this update enables document tracking with Affinity products — Affinity Designer, Photo, and Publisher. For these apps, Suitcase Fusion provides drag-and-drop support instead of plugins. Simply drag and drop an Affinity file on top of Suitcase Fusion to activate document fonts and enable font tracking. Once you’ve done this, any font errors will be resolved when you open a document, and you can also collect fonts for output.
The Return of List View Previews
We didn’t realize just how much our users loved List View previews until we removed it in Suitcase Fusion 8. You told us you missed it, we heard you, and now it’s back.
With List View previews, you can select and display font previews as you scroll through your sorted lists. Explore multiple fonts at a time without getting bogged down by excess previews. Quickly select and compare fonts, and identify the best fonts to make your design vision a reality.
Dark Mode
Mac users can now set Suitcase Fusion to Dark Mode in the Appearance Settings. Dark Mode inverts the standard display of a program, so instead of looking at a bright background with dark text, users can replace the interface with white text on a dark background. This alternate display helps to reduce ocular strain — a common problem for designers working on screens all day.
Suitcase Fusion Compatible With Adobe Creative Cloud Update For 2021
We want to make sure you have everything you need to create your best work. This latest update to Suitcase Fusion makes our font manager compatible with Adobe Creative Cloud updates for 2021. With Suitcase Fusion, your fonts will auto-activate as soon as you open the newest versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InCopy, or After Effects.
