Bluebeam Software Has Launched Revu 2015
to Simplify Document Management and Speed Up Project Communication

Latest release enables technical professionals to finish projects faster and work smarter

Bluebeam® Software, leading developer of PDF-based markup, measurement and collaboration solutions for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), oil and gas, manufacturing and other technical professionals, has announced the release of Bluebeam Revu® 2015, the latest version of the company’s award-winning flagship solution. Revu 2015 introduces new features that enable project teams to keep complex document sets organized and up to date, ensuring all team members are on the same page.

“To meet the demands of complex projects and condensed timelines, project teams need technology to simplify communication between project stakeholders and remove workflow redundancies," says Richard Lee, Bluebeam Software President and CEO. “Revu 2015 presents and polishes features that make marking up and managing document sets easier with greater markup tool functionality and batch automation, as well as more flexibility with how project information is shared.”

Expect Smarter Markups
One of Bluebeam’s most highly anticipated markup features is now available in Revu 2015. Sketch Tools allow users to quickly create new shapes to exacting measurements based on a PDF’s calibrated scale. The tools give users real-time length and angle feedback as they sketch details with their mouse or enter dimensions using their keyboard.

Also added in Revu 2015 is the Dynamic Tool Set Scaler, which enables markups to automatically resize precisely and proportionately when used on documents of different scales. Grouped markups in a drawing can also resize proportionately, regardless of scale setting.

Using Revu’s Camera tool, Capture 2.0 now allows users to embed videos into markups. Users can scroll through images and play back videos directly from each markup’s Capture viewer. Markups containing Capture media can be tracked and viewed in Revu’s Markups list and exported as a PDF Summary.

Automate More Tasks
New in Revu 2015, Batch Slip Sheet (eXtreme edition only) automates the process of keeping complex file sets up to date by allowing users to automatically match new file revisions with previous corresponding file versions. All markups, hyperlinks and bookmarks are carried over from revision to revision.

An existing Revu feature, Sets, which allows teams to navigate a large collection of various PDF files as if they were a single multi-page document in a single tab, receives automation and categorization upgrades in Revu 2015.

Get on the Same Page Faster
Revu’s integrated cloud-based collaboration feature, Bluebeam Studio™, includes enhancements to streamline project communication and provide more flexible options for controlling access to information. For example, password-protected Studio File Links can be sent to colleagues, even if they don’t have a Studio account. Permissions can be set on a per folder basis within the Studio Projects document management system, and users can schedule expiration dates for real-time active Studio Sessions.

Bluebeam’s mobility solutions will get users where they need to go faster. New in Revu iPad 3.0, Studio GO™ enables large format files in Studio Projects and Studio Sessions to render instantly for quicker markup and navigation, without modifying the original documents. With Background Sync, Revu iPad users can download files while they continue to work in Revu.

Cloud+
Cloud+ combines the convenience of clouds and the clarity of callouts into a single tool, including the ability to customize the appearance properties for both components independently.

Batch Overlay Pages
Simplify the process of overlay comparisons, which assigns different colors to each page to visually display differences between multiple pairs of files. New setup options auto-match files by pulling from file name, page label or page region.

Batch Compare Documents
Speed up your current document comparison procedure. Batch Compare Documents, which automatically identifies and highlights all differences between multiple drawing revisions, now auto-matches files by file name, page label or page region.

Microsoft Office Export Enhancements
Transform scanned PDFs in Revu into Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents that contain editable text. You can even select specific page regions to output, such as a section of table columns and rows from a PDF into an Excel spreadsheet.

Digital Signature Enhancements
Conveniently view the status of all digital signatures and certificates within the new Digital Signatures tab. This includes invisible signatures from services such as DocuSign or digital IDs with embedded timestamps, which meet the requirement for PAdes LTV support.

Licensing:
Bluebeam software is registered on a per workstation basis with a node-locked licence. Bluebeam offers discounts for volume purchases of 5 or more seats. These discounts are provided on a per transaction basis. When you include the Bluebeam Maintenance Program with your order you ensure that your employees have access to the most up-to-date features that Bluebeam offers plus additional support services.

Using Revu for working with typical Office documents: When using Revu for general office applications, a standard, general class computer may be used. A system qualified to run Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8 would be a typical recommended configuration. For systems using 32-bit Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8 , a bare minimum of 2GB is recommended. For running 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8, a minimum of 4GB is recommended.
Using Revu for working with large sets of engineering documents: When working with large drawing sets (for example, construction project bid sets) in which the PDFs may contain many hundreds of large format drawings, it is recommended that workstations have adequate memory and processor resources. A recommended hardware configuration would be an Intel i5 Dual Core 3.2GHz, Quad Core 2.3 GHz or better processor, as well as 8 GB of RAM. Revu can run on systems with lower specifications, however a workstation with these settings will provide the optimal performance.
