PTC's latest release, Mathcad 15.0, is designed to help engineers achieve best practices within the overall Product Development process thru increased productivity, collaboration enablement and process improvement.

* Design of Experiment (DoE): Reduce the time and expense of conducting experiments through DoE by understanding the variables that will have the most influence on the experiment. DoE helps identify critical factors and optimal settings for a complex process. It provides templates for fewer, yet more intelligent experiments which are indispensable when having multiple variable levels

License type definitions

Concurrent User License (Floating): Also known as a 'floating' license, this allows only one user at a given time. Different users may use the software at different times, but only one person may use it at any given time.

Node Locked License (Locked): Fixes the license to a specific machine, allowing it to only be used on that hardware, but comes at a reduced cost.

Uudessa versiossa on lukuisia parannuksia sekä uusia ominaisuuksia. Koko käyttöliittymä on muuttunut vastaamaan nykyistä Office-standardia. Kyseinen versio tukee virallisesti myös Windows 7-käyttöjärjestelmän 32- ja 64-bittisiä versioita.

Uuden version myötä, myös lisenssit uudistuvat. Nykyinen Single User-lisenssi vaihtuu Individual-lisensiksi. Tämän myötä, ylläpidon saa nyt myös yksittäisiin lisenseihin, kun aiemmin ylläpito oli saatavilla vain verkkolisenssiin.

Mathcad Prime 1.0:n mukana toimitetaan aina myös Mathcad 15. Mathcad Prime 1.0 ja Mathcad 15 kuuluvat samaan lisenssitiedostoon. Valmistaja toimittaa siis kaksi versiota asiakkaille: Prime 1.0 ja Mathcad 15.

Mathcad Prime 1.0; stä puuttuu kolme ominaisuutta: 3d grafiikka, animaatio ja symbolit. Mutta kaikki löytyy Mathcad 15 versiosta. Molemmat versiot toimivat samalla lisenssillä.

PTC:n uusien sääntöjen mukaan kaikki uudet Mathcad-päivitykset ja versiot on mahdollista saada vain ne asiakkaat, joilla on Mathcad-ylläpitosopimus voimassa. Mathcad-ylläpitosopimus on voimassa aina vuoden kerrallaan. Ylläpitoon sisältyy tekninen tuki sekä kaikki Mathcadin uudet versiot ja päivitykset. PTC toimittaa ohjelman ylläpitosopimusasiakkaalle automaattisesti. Hankitun Mathcad-lisenssin kotikäyttöoikeus pätee vain, jos ylläpitosopimus on voimassa. Kotikäyttöoikeudella Mathcad voidaan asentaa kotikoneeseen tai kannettavalle.
